Steve Buckhantz Narrates Suggestions for the Gooden/Miller/Harrington Combo

Posted on March 21, 2014 by Trevor Jackson

The Jumpy Old Men are getting it done.

During last night's loss to the Portland Trailblazers (which I didn't see because like an old man, I had to get some sleep), Wizards play-by-play announcer read off some nickname suggestions for the second unit group of Al Harrington, Andre Miller, and Drew Gooden.

Everybody has been calling them the AARP group for a while, but some of these suggestion are pretty good:

  • OLD HEADZ: This is what you call those guys in your rec league or pickup spot that don't have the athleticism anymore, but just know how to get the job done and are effective. If you ran into these old guys at your local game, you're in trouble.
  • Jumpy Old Men: I like this one. It just flows. Sure maybe Harrington/Miller/Gooden aren't as explosive as they used to be, and don't have that same lift, but this one just seems to fit. Now if someone would please be kind enough to photoshop them into this picture, it would be much appreciated.
