Sometimes, It's the little things that count.Posted on August 15, 2013
Al Harrington hasn't played one game for the Wizards, and already he is getting some great buzz in D.C. I touched on his enthusiasm about coming to the nations capital to help the Wizards get out of the dumps earlier this week. During his press conference yesterday, he had this to say-
"Just watching the way they finished the year when they were healthy, I just feel like this is a great opportunity where I could come in, help and try to push them over the top... The talent that's on the roster with the guys that got a little bit of experience, with the young guys, I think it's a good mix. Adding me to it, I can definitely help these guys."
Again, to hear a veteran player talk of the environment that is the Wizards being one that he WANTED to embrace- is music to my ears. I've said numerous times that I wanted winners in and around this organization in order for it to move in a direction that can people can come back to and definitely be proud of. Everyone knows the quote, "If you build it, they will come". That mantra has apparently gone viral in the front office over the last 2 seasons. I'm still reserving more praise on Ernie until the lights come on, but he's doing his part to thaw the ice in our relationship. If that BBQ dispenser is in Section 109, we still may have problems though.
WizardsXTRA host Jammal Matthews (@AllDayMattyJay) calls in to discuss the Wizards selection of Otto Porter Jr., why he though Bennett was the right choice at #1, and his opinion of Alex Len.
